What is Diwali?

For Jains, Diwali marks the day that Lord Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara (spiritual teacher), attained Nirvana (liberation) in 527 BCE. On Diwali, Jains celebrate this spiritual victory and light lamps to signify the light of knowledge and enlightenment.
5. The Sikh Celebration of Bandi Chhor Divas
Sikhs celebrate Diwali as Bandi Chhor Divas, which commemorates the release of Guru Hargobind Ji, the sixth Sikh Guru, along with 52 princes, from imprisonment by the Mughal emperor Jahangir in 1619. This day is marked by lighting lamps and celebrating freedom and justice.

The Five Days of Diwali Festival Celebration
Each day of Diwali has its own significance and rituals:

Naraka Chaturdashi / Roop Chaturdashi (Day 2): Also known as Chhoti Diwali, this day symbolizes the victory of Lord Krishna over Narakasura.
